Scope

This document specifies the general requirements for testing, testing environment, testing equipment, testing procedures, and the presentation of test results for passive infrared detectors used in large and small motion detection.
This document applies to the measurement methods and declarations of the detection range of passive infrared detectors used for large and small motion detection. These detectors can either be standalone (directly controlling one or more applications) or integrated as part of home and building electronic systems (HBES), building automation and control systems (BACS), or similar systems.
This document specifies a measurement method and testing procedure for the detection range of detectors, used to declare and verify the detection area of motion detectors that use passive infrared technology in electronic control devices and appliance switches.
