Scope

This document describes the test methods that can be used to test personal assistant robots to meet the safety requirements of personal assistant robots defined in ISO 13482. The robots covered by this document are exactly the same as the target robots described in ISO 13482. Manufacturers determine the required tests and appropriate test parameters based on a risk assessment of the robot's design and use, which can determine which tests and test parameters, in addition to those included in this document, are also acceptable. Not all test methods in this document are suitable for all types of robots. Test methods marked as "universal" are suitable for all personal assistant robots. For other tests, the title indicates which types of robots the test can be applied to (for example, "applicable to wearable robots" or "applicable to mobile robots"). Some test methods can also be replaced by using other applicable standards, even if these standards are not listed in this document.
