Scope

This standard specifies the definition of the rated thermal speed of oil-bath lubricated rolling bearings and determines the calculation principles of this parameter. From the perspective of tribology, the parameters determined in accordance with this standard are applicable not only to bearings of a given series and standard size structure, but also to bearings of other related standard structures.
For most standard components, the maximum speed is determined by the allowable temperature. The heat of the entire component is generated by the bearings.
Due to kinematic effects, the rated thermal speed specified in this standard is not applicable to thrust ball bearings.
