Scope

This standard specifies the emission limits of exhaust pollutants from light-duty vehicles with internal combustion engines under simplified transient operating conditions.
This standard applies to light-duty vehicles in use that run on gasoline, single gas fuels, and dual-fuel engines, with a maximum design speed of 50 km/h or higher.
This standard does not apply to full-time four-wheel-drive vehicles.
