Scope
This standard specifies the methods for material identification of pipes and fittings mainly made of polypropylene (PP-R, PP-B, or PP-H) using infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry, and provides guidelines for sample preparation and spectral analysis.
This standard is applicable to the material identification of pipes and fittings made from a single polypropylene resin (PP-R, PP-B, or PP-H), and the polypropylene resin can also be used for reference.
This standard is not applicable to the material identification of pipes and fittings made from blended resins, nor to β-PP materials.
