Scope

This guidance technical document specifies the method for rapid screening of lead, mercury, chromium, cadmium, and bromine, which are restricted substances in electronic and electrical products, using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The chromium and bromine measured here refer to the total chromium and total bromine in the sample.
The X-ray fluorescence spectrometry specified in this guidance technical document includes energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF) and wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WDXRF), and it is also applicable to portable or handheld X-ray spectrometers.
