Scope

This standard specifies the definition, classification, design and structure, requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for fixed gas fire-extinguishing systems (hereinafter referred to as "systems") on ships.
   〖JP2〗This standard applies to fixed total flooding high-pressure carbon dioxide fire-extinguishing systems, fixed total flooding low-pressure carbon dioxide fire-extinguishing systems, fixed total flooding heptafluoropropane (HFC227ea) fire-extinguishing systems, fixed total flooding trifluoromethane (HFC23) fire-extinguishing systems, and fixed total flooding mixed gas (IG541) fire-extinguishing systems used in ship engine rooms and cargo oil pump rooms.〖JP〗
