Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, labeling, user manuals, and packaging, transportation, and storage of commercial pressure cookers (hereinafter referred to as "pressure cookers").
This standard applies to commercial pressure cookers with a nominal working pressure of 50 kPa to 80 kPa, a volume of more than 18 L but not exceeding 50 L, and made from aluminum and aluminum alloys, or stainless steel sheets. Commercial pressure cookers made from other metal sheets can refer to this standard for implementation.
This standard does not apply to commercial pressure cookers used for oil-based pressure frying.
