Scope

This document describes the quantitative evaluation method for the antifungal performance of footwear and footwear components.
This document is applicable to footwear and footwear components that claim to have antifungal or antibacterial properties.
Two methods can be used for testing. The choice of method depends on the characteristics of the material and the test bacteria. The oscillation method is suitable for all types of materials. For single absorbent materials, it is recommended to use the absorption method. A brief description of each method is given in Sections 11.2 and 11.3.
