GB/T 40722.2-2021 Styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)—Determination of the microstructure of solution-polymerized SBR—Part 2:FTIR with ATR method
Basic Information
Scope
This document describes the steps for determining the microstructure of butadiene and the styrene content in solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR) using the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) attenuated total reflection (ATR) method. The styrene content is expressed as a mass fraction relative to the total polymer. The content of the 1,4-trans structure, the 1,4-cis structure, and the 1,2-vinyl structure is expressed as a molar fraction (%) relative to the butadiene portion.
This document is applicable to S-SBR raw rubber.
Note 1: For S-SBR containing polystyrene or with a styrene content greater than 45%, the precision shown in Appendix A may not be achievable.
Note 2: This document uses the terms "vinyl", "trans", and "cis". Typically, the expressions for vinyl, trans, and cis are as follows:
—— Vinyl: vinyl units, vinyl bonds, 1,2-units, 1,2-bonds, 1,2-vinyl units, or 1,2-vinyl bonds;
—— Trans: 1,4-trans units, 1,4-trans bonds, trans-1,4-units, or trans-1,4-bonds;
—— Cis: 1,4-cis units, 1,4-cis bonds, cis-1,4-units, or cis-1,4-bonds.
