Scope

This document specifies the classification and names of energy efficiency evaluation methods for industrial furnaces and their related process equipment (TPE), including energy efficiency related to enthalpy. This document is not applicable to the following types of TPE: -- blast furnaces, alkaline oxidation furnaces, coke ovens; -- furnaces that use generated gases as fuel (including by-product gases); -- special gas generators; -- industrial furnaces designed for chemical plants or oil refineries; -- facilities for heating or combustion in open-air environments; -- devices for burning solid fuels; -- waste incinerators.
