Scope

This guidance technical document specifies the principles and methods for establishing a computer-readable data dictionary that includes tool description items and their unique definitions of characteristics, by referencing the information model defined in ISO/TS 13399-1.
This guidance technical document applies to:
——Specifications for data element types, their identifiers, semantics, and value attributes;
——Specifications for item classes and their identifiers and semantic attributes.
This guidance technical document does not apply to:
——The information model of cutting tools;
——The classification and definition of item and data element types related to cutting tools;
——The relationships between items and characteristics in the classification.
Note 1: ISO/TS 13399-1 specifies the information model of cutting tools.
Note 2: ISO/TS 13399-2 to ISO/TS 13399-5 specify the classification items, definitions of data element types, and characteristics associated with items of cutting tools.
