Scope
This standard specifies the limits of extractable chemicals in disposable latex gloves used in food contact and the test methods for them.
This standard applies to disposable latex gloves made from natural latex, synthetic latex, and their blended polymers, which are used in food production, processing, and in the catering industry.
This standard does not specify requirements for extractable bioactive substances and the physical properties of gloves. This standard is not applicable to gloves used under extreme conditions such as a pH value of less than 4.5 and/or temperatures above 40 °C, nor to gloves that come into direct contact with oily foods.
