Scope

This part of GB/T 36805 specifies the method for determining the tensile properties of molded and extruded plastics over a wide strain rate range, which includes high strain rates similar to those encountered in impact loading situations. The performance is determined by combining the following methods: testing the performance at low and medium strain rates, fitting the test results with mathematical functions, and extrapolating the rate-dependent parameters from the equation. The tensile properties at high strain rates are then calculated by extrapolation. This method eliminates the experimental problems and measurement errors associated with determining the performance at high strain rates. The performance at low and medium strain rates is determined in accordance with ISO 5272, which specifies the types of plastic materials applicable to this part.
