GB/T 40887.1-2021 Wheelchair containment and occupant retention systems for accessible transport vehicles designed for use by both sitting and standing passengers—Part 1:Systems for rearward-facing wheelchair seated passengers
Basic Information
Scope
This document applies to the wheelchair passenger space (RF-WPS) used by wheelchair passengers weighing more than 22 kg on accessible passenger vehicles. It is suitable for vehicles operating on fixed routes and can be used under normal and emergency driving conditions, allowing passengers to sit or stand. The prerequisite of this standard is that the maximum acceleration of the vehicle in any direction under emergency driving conditions does not exceed 1 g.
This document specifies the design requirements, performance requirements, and related test methods for rear-facing wheelchair passenger systems, the requirements for manufacturer's instructions, warning information for installers and users, and the requirements for product labels and test information.
The main purpose of this document is to limit the dangerous movement of rear-facing wheelchairs, including three-wheeled or more-wheeled mobility scooters, inside vehicles, which may cause collisions or injuries to other passengers.
The provisions specified in this document are mainly applicable to complete RF-WPS, but the sub-provisions specified can also be applied to components and assemblies sold separately, and to the specific functions of components and assemblies intended for replacement.
