Scope

This document describes the principles, reagents and materials, instrumentation, experimental procedures, data processing, recovery rate, and precision of the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for determining fluorescent whitening agents 367 and 393 in cosmetics. This document is applicable to the determination of fluorescent whitening agents 367 and 393 in aqueous preparations, non-wax-based ointments and creams, and emulsions. The methodological detection limits for fluorescent whitening agents 367 and 393 in this document are both 0.10 mg/kg, and the quantitative limits are both 0.30 mg/kg.
