Scope

This document describes the principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, experimental procedures, data processing, recovery rates, and precision of the method for determining the ammonia content in cosmetics. This document is applicable to the determination of ammonia content added in the form of ammonia gas or ammonia water in cosmetics such as hair dye products and perm products. This document is not applicable to products that contain ammonium-based raw materials (except for cocoamidopropyl betaine and steartrimonium chloride). The method's detection limit for ammonia (calculated as NH3) is 0.1%, and the quantification limit is 0.2%.
