Scope

This document specifies the method for determining the color fastness to abrasion (chalking) of various textiles using the wire mesh method.
This document is applicable to all kinds of dyed or printed fabrics and their products, especially to fabrics and their products with poor dye penetration.
This document is not applicable to fabrics with brushed, flocked, or loosely woven structures, or fabrics and their products that are prone to damage after abrasion.
Note: This method simulates the moderate friction movement that fabrics and their products experience in actual use in a rapid manner.
