Scope

Main Technical Content: The Hetao Irrigation District features flat terrain. According to the environmental monitoring conducted by the provincial green food management department, the environmental quality of the production area should meet the requirements of NY/T 391. 3.1 Lighting: Average daily sunlight duration exceeds 10 hours, with an annual sunshine duration of 3,200–3,400 hours. 3.2 Temperature: The frost-free period exceeds 130 days, with a minimum average temperature of 15°C and a total temperature above 1,500°C. White pear fragrant melons are heat-loving crops, and the optimum temperature during their entire growth period is 25–32°C. 3.3 Water: Irrigation from the Yellow River (or well water) is convenient, with well-matched irrigation and drainage systems. The water quality meets the GB 5084 standard. 3.4 Soil: The soil layer is deep, with a pH value of 7.0–8.5 and a texture of sandy loam or loam. The organic matter content should exceed 1%. It must comply with the GB 15618 standard for soil environmental quality. 4 Preparatory Work 4.1 Soil Preparation: The selected land should not have been replanted for 3–5 years. It should have a deep soil layer, moderate soil fertility, and a pH value of 7.5–8.5. The texture should be loam or sandy loam, and it must meet the GB 15618 standard for soil environmental quality. Before planting, the soil should be plowed 20–25 cm deep to avoid replanting with other melons.
