Scope

Main Technical Content: 3. Site Selection and Planning 3.1.1 Climate Conditions Select an area with an annual average temperature of 16–18°C, a dormancy period of ≤7.2°C with a minimum accumulation of 600 hours of low temperatures, an average annual sunshine duration of ≥1,200 hours, and an annual average precipitation of 1,000–1,500 mm. 3.1.2 Terrain and Soil Conditions Choose sites with sufficient sunlight, especially on sun-facing slopes, with soil pH ranging from slightly acidic to slightly alkaline, loose texture, and deep soil layers on gentle slopes or hilly terrain. Avoid building in low-lying, shaded areas. 3.1.3 Environmental Quality The air, irrigation water, and soil in the production area must meet the requirements of NY 5013. 3. Site Planning The site plan should fully consider factors such as plot division, roads, transportation, power supply, irrigation and drainage systems, and ancillary buildings. For level and gentle slopes with a slope of ≤6°, plant rows should be oriented north-south; for mountainous or hilly areas with a slope of ≥6°, plant rows should extend along contour lines and terraces should be constructed. 4. Pre-planting Preparations 4.1.1 Seedling Selection Select high-quality grafted seedlings with a peach or plum rootstock. The variety purity should be ≥98%, the height above the grafting site ≥30 cm, the diameter at 1 cm above the grafting site ≥0.4 cm, well-developed root systems, and a well-healed grafting site. The buds in the shaping zone should be plump, and the branches should be free from pests and diseases. 4.1.2 Digging Planting Holes In autumn and winter (1–2 months before planting), dig planting holes with dimensions of 80 cm in length and width and 50 cm in depth. Separate the topsoil from the new soil. 4.1.3 Preparing Planting Fertilizer One month before planting, prepare planting fertilizer by mixing 10–15 kg of organic fertilizer and 0.5 kg of phosphorus fertilizer per plant.
