This standard applies to the breed identification, grade evaluation, and production management of Yongqiao goats; Main technical content: 3 Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 3.1 Yongqiao goats Yongqiao goats are native to the administrative area of Yongqiao District and belong to the dual-use type of goats, characterized by early sexual maturity, high reproductive ability, good quality of board skins, delicious meat, robust constitution, and well-proportioned body structure. 4 Breed origin Yongqiao goats are a local breed formed through long-term natural selection and artificial breeding in the unique natural environment and climate of Yongqiao District, fed with local specialty feed, and are a local group of Huang-Huai goats. 5 Breed characteristics 5.1 Head and neck The head shape is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, forming an inverted triangle; the face is slightly concave, with a beard and a pointed mouth with thin lips; the ears are of medium size, with the tips of the ears pointing backward or forward; with horns or without horns. Male goats have large horns that extend upward, backward, and outward. Female goats have small, sickle-shaped horns. There may be or not be a chin flap. 5.2 Neck and shoulders The neck is of medium thickness and length, consistent with the body shape.
