This standard applies to the identification, production, and sales of wild-cultivated native medicinal plants within the People's Republic of China. Main Technical Content: 3. Terminology and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this standard: 3.1 **Medicinal Plants**: Plants used in medicine for disease prevention and treatment, where the entire plant or a part of it is used for medicinal purposes or as raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry. 3.2 **Native Medicinal Plants (Native Medicinal Materials)**: Also known as "authentic medicinal materials", these refer to high-quality medicinal materials with excellent therapeutic effects, produced in specific geographical regions and influenced by specific production and processing methods, compared to similar products from other regions. 3.3 **Wild-Cultivated Native Medicinal Plants**: A type of eco-friendly production method for medicinal plants, where the plants are artificially or naturally increased in population in their native habitats or similar environments to meet human harvesting needs while maintaining ecological balance. 3.4 **Certified Wild-Cultivated Native Medicinal Materials**: Native medicinal materials cultivated according to the cultivation guidelines for wild-cultivated native medicinal plants and passing third-party testing.
