Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions of hazardous waste in laboratories, basic requirements, classification, collection, storage, transfer, and technical requirements for the treatment process. This document applies to the environmental management of hazardous waste generated in laboratories during production, research, development, teaching, inspection, and testing activities. The environmental management of infectious, pathological, harmful, and radioactive waste is not applicable to this document. This document is a general technical requirement for the pollution control of hazardous waste in laboratories. Where national or local solid waste environmental protection standards have specific provisions for hazardous waste in laboratories, those provisions shall be implemented.
