Scope
This standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods for electric nursing beds. This standard applies to electric nursing beds (hereinafter referred to as "nursing beds"), which are used to support patients and use motor-driven transmission mechanisms to achieve the lifting and tilting of the bed surface, forming the required body positions for patients, the elderly, the disabled, the frail, and for nursing care in homes, medical institutions, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers. This standard does not apply to the following equipment: medical electric beds intended for use in application environments 1 and 2 as described in Sections 3.2 and 3.3.
