Scope
This document specifies the relevant characteristics of paper substrates, which are used for communication and exchange between the paper industry and the printing industry. This document is applicable to printing papers and proofing papers used in printing processes such as rotary gravure printing, cold-set rotary offset printing, heat-set rotary offset printing, sheet-fed offset printing, and flexographic printing. In the case of multiple printing methods coexisting, this document details the preferred method and related ISO standards. The measurement methods for all paper characteristics specified in this document are described in other ISO standards.
