Scope

This standard specifies the SUMMA canister sampling gas chromatography/mass spectrometry method for determining volatile harmful organic compounds in indoor air. This standard is applicable to the determination of 19 volatile organic compounds in the air of residential and office buildings, environmental test chambers, etc. (see Appendix A), and other common volatile organic compounds in indoor environments (see Appendix B). The determination of volatile organic compounds in other indoor environmental air can be carried out in accordance with this standard.
