Scope

This standard specifies the high-performance liquid chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry methods for the determination of vitamin B3 (nicotinic acid and niacinamide) in cosmetics.
This standard is applicable to the quantitative determination of vitamin B3 (nicotinic acid and niacinamide) in cosmetics such as creams, emulsions, toners, soap bases like beauty soap, and wax bases like lipstick. Among them, the detection limit of nicotinic acid and niacinamide by high-performance liquid chromatography is 2 μg/g, and the quantitative limit is 6 μg/g; the detection limit of nicotinic acid and niacinamide by high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry is 100 μg/kg, and the quantitative limit is 300 μg/kg.
