Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements for the clinical diagnosis of porcine proliferative enteritis (PPE), polymerase chain reaction (PCR), bacterial isolation and identification, immunoperoxidase monolayer assay (IPMA), immunofluorescence antibody test (IFAT), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (competitive ELISA). The clinical diagnosis techniques specified in this standard are applicable to the preliminary diagnosis of PPE; the bacterial isolation and identification techniques and PCR tests are suitable for the isolation and identification of intracellular Lawsonia and the confirmation of PPE; IPMA, IFAT, and competitive ELISA are applicable to the detection of intracellular Lawsonia antibodies.
