Scope

This document specifies the delivery technical conditions, manufacturing process, material requirements, inspection and testing procedures, as well as the marking, packaging, and storage of friction-welded all-titanium drill rods used in oil and gas drilling and production operations with end-thickened tubes and butt-welded drill rod joints.
This document applies to the manufacture and inspection of friction-welded all-titanium drill rods.
The titanium drill rods in this document are divided into three grades according to the nominal yield strength of the tubes: TD95, TD105, and TD120.
This document does not address the physical performance and evaluation methods of titanium drill rods.
