Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the design requirements for the compressed air starting system of emergency diesel generators for pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants and its components, including system functions, classification, process design and equipment design requirements, testing and maintenance requirements, etc. This standard applies to all mechanical equipment, electrical, instrumentation and control equipment from the air compressor unit to the air starting system and the interface with the diesel engine (including the interface), but does not include the equipment directly installed on the diesel engine itself. The design of the compressed air starting system for non-safety-related diesel generators can refer to and use this standard.
