Scope

This section specifies the definition of "batches" of welding materials used for mechanical equipment in the nuclear island of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, mechanical property tests, chemical analysis tests, determination of δ-ferrite content, and requirements for the storage and preservation of welding materials. This section applies to welding materials such as welding rods, welding wires, welding tapes, fusible inserts, and fluxes used for welding and surfacing (excluding wear-resistant surfacing) of carbon steel, low-alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys in the nuclear island of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants.
