Scope

This standard specifies the evaluation of the impact of electromagnetic fields generated by welding equipment and its auxiliary devices under normal welding conditions on on-site operators.
This standard applies to welding equipment and its auxiliary devices.
This standard does not involve the evaluation of the electromagnetic compatibility of welding equipment products.
Note 1: The welding equipment covered by this standard mainly includes arc welding equipment, resistance welding equipment, and its peripheral auxiliary equipment, including welding power supplies, wire feed devices, water-cooled boxes, output cables, welding torches, arc-striking and arc-stabilizing devices, etc.
Note 2: This standard does not include the detection and evaluation of the electromagnetic environment of all known welding equipment.
