Scope

This standard specifies the design requirements for mountain (toothed rail) rail transit systems, including overall design, traffic organization and operation management, vehicles, clearance limits, lines, track beds, bridges, tunnels, tracks, stations, power supply, electricity, communication, signals, information, disaster monitoring, vehicle depots, comprehensive maintenance, water supply and drainage, station buildings, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and environmental protection. This standard applies to the design of new mountain (toothed rail) rail transit projects with a track gauge of 1,000 mm, driven by gear and toothed rails or gear and toothed rails + steel wheels and rails, with a maximum operating speed of no more than 120 km/h and a maximum slope of no more than 480‰. The design of other new or modified mountain (toothed rail) rail transit projects may be implemented with reference to this standard.
