Basic Information
Scope
Main technical content: Based on local market demand and different usage scenarios, select high-quality, high-yielding, disease-resistant, adaptable, and commercially viable varieties. Choose varieties with the following characteristics: smooth potato skins, fewer secondary roots, moderate size (150–250 g per piece), bright color, no diseases or injuries, and no damage from cold or moisture. For seed potato treatment, soak the seeds in 52–54°C warm water for 10 minutes, or soak them in a 600-fold solution of 50% Metribuzin WP (or 50% Multisporin WP) for 5 minutes to control black spot disease. For seed potato planting: - Cover the soil with plastic film and heat it 3–4 days before planting. - Separate the seeds by size during planting, arrange them in rows with a spacing of 2–3 cm, and place the ends facing each other. - Apply base fertilizer according to NY/T 1105 standards, adhering to the principle of "using base fertilizer as the main fertilizer and supplementing with top dressing, increasing organic fertilizer, balancing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers, and supplementing with micronutrient fertilizers". - For each 666.7 m2, apply 3,000–4,000 kg of composted farmyard manure, 50–60 kg of potassium sulfate fertilizer (13:10:20), and 20–25 kg of potassium sulfate, along with 7.5 kg of calcium-magnesium micronutrient fertilizer during land preparation. - For planting density: - For spring potatoes, plant 3,000–4,000 seedlings per 666.7 m2; - For summer potatoes, plant 4,000–5,000 seedlings per 666.7 m2. - To control vigorous growth, before closing the rows, gently pull up the vines in fields with excessive growth to control stem and leaf development. Alternatively, use chemical growth regulators such as 5% Ethephon (60 g/45 kg water) to spray on the stems and leaves. Repeat the spraying once or twice every 7–10 days based on growth conditions.
