Terms and Definitions 3.1 Bee Colony Bee colonies are social insects and the basic units for natural survival and farm management. They typically consist of a normal queen bee, tens of thousands of worker bees, and hundreds to thousands of male bees (seasonally present). 3.2 Bee Pollination The transfer of pollen from one plant to another by bees is called bee pollination. 4. Site Selection and Bee Species Selection 4.1 Site Selection There should be no honey processing plants, food factories using sugar as raw material, or factories such as chemical plants, mines, and pesticide factories that may cause pollution to bee products or bee poisoning within a 3-km radius of the bee farm.
