Scope

This standard specifies the principles, reagents and materials, instrumentation, experimental procedures, result calculation, recovery rate and precision, and allowable deviations of the high-performance liquid chromatography method for determining six phenolic antiseptics in cosmetics, including phenol, p-chloro-m-cresol, o-cresol-5-ol, 4-tert-butylphenol, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, and pentachlorophenol.
This standard is applicable to the determination of six phenolic antiseptics in cosmetics, including phenol, p-chloro-m-cresol, o-cresol-5-ol, 4-tert-butylphenol, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, and pentachlorophenol.
The method's detection limit and quantification limit for water-based products, emulsions, ointments, and powders are 2.5 mg/kg and 8.5 mg/kg, respectively; and for wax-based products, the detection limit and quantification limit are 5.0 mg/kg and 17.0 mg/kg, respectively.
