Scope

This standard specifies the classification, marking, order content, dimensions, shape, and allowable deviations of zinc-5% aluminum-magnesium alloy-coated steel wires used in steel-core aluminum strands. It also stipulates technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates. This standard applies to zinc-5% aluminum-magnesium alloy-coated steel wires used in overhead strands with a nominal diameter range of 1.25 mm to 5.50 mm, either as structural components or for reinforcement.
