Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, model markings, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings, packaging, transportation, and storage of impact compactors.
This standard applies to towed impact compactors. Other types of impact compactors can be used as reference.
The impact compaction of impact compactors is mainly used in the following working conditions:
——Foundation impact compaction;
——Soil and rock mixed fill, layered impact compaction of rock-filled embankments;
——Embankment supplementary compaction;
——Old gravel (asphalt) pavement impact compaction;
——Old cement concrete pavement impact compaction;
——Special soils such as aeolian sand and saline soil can be implemented after thorough verification based on the test results of the test section.
Working conditions where impact compaction with impact compactors is not suitable:
——Sections of reinforced earth retaining walls;
——Sections of old roads where the bearing capacity of retaining walls, bridges, and culverts is insufficient to withstand the impact compaction load;
——Sections where the water content exceeds the range and the effect of impact compaction is not obvious after verification by impact compaction tests;
——Sections where the average settlement after 20 times of impact compaction in the embankment enhancement supplementary compaction test section is ≤30 mm;
——Sections where the safety distance to buildings is insufficient;
——Sections where buildings requiring special protection are located.
