Scope

This document specifies the determination methods of atomic absorption spectrometry and plasma emission spectrometry for the total amounts of magnesium, calcium, manganese, iron, and copper in paper, cardboard, and pulp. The total amounts of magnesium, calcium, manganese, iron, and copper include the acid-soluble and acid-insoluble parts of various elements in the sample. This document is applicable to all types of paper, cardboard, and pulp. The detection limits for magnesium are 0.4 mg/kg; for calcium, 0.2 mg/kg; for manganese, 0.4 mg/kg; for iron, 0.5 mg/kg; and for copper, 0.6 mg/kg.
