Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the spectrophotometric and high-performance liquid chromatography methods for the determination of tert-butyl-phenol (namely 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)1,2-phenol) in butadiene for industrial use. The spectrophotometric method of this standard is applicable to a determination range of 1 mg/kg to 300 mg/kg, and the high-performance liquid chromatography method is applicable to a determination range of 1 mg/kg to 250 mg/kg.
