Scope

This standard specifies the principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, experimental procedures, result calculation, recovery rate and precision, and allowable deviations of the high-performance liquid chromatography determination method for chloroacetaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxy-3-methylbenzaldehyde, crotonaldehyde, phenylacetone, 2-pentylcyclohexanone, and glutaraldehyde in cosmetics.
This standard is applicable to the determination of chloroacetaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxy-3-methylbenzaldehyde, crotonaldehyde, phenylacetone, 2-pentylcyclohexanone, and glutaraldehyde in water-based, cream-based, emulsion-based, powder-based, and wax-based cosmetics.
The method detection limits and quantification limits of this standard are as follows: The detection limits of chloroacetaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxy-3-methylbenzaldehyde, phenylacetone, 2-pentylcyclohexanone, and glutaraldehyde are all 1.0 mg/kg, and the quantification limits are all 3.0 mg/kg; the detection limit of crotonaldehyde is 0.5 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 1.5 mg/kg.
