Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for copper-beryllium alloy forgings and extrusions, including order information, materials and manufacturing, chemical composition, condition, grain size, physical properties, mechanical properties, heat treatment, dimensions and allowable deviations, process, final processing, and appearance, as well as testing methods. This standard applies to copper-beryllium alloy forgings and extrusions with alloy grades C17000 (with a Be content of 1.7%) and C17200 (with a Be content of 1.9%). When the alloy grade is not specified in the standard, it shall be deemed to be C17200 copper-beryllium alloy.
