GB/Z 37754-2019 Guidance on clearances and creepage distances in particular for distances equal to or less than 2 mm—Test results of research on influencing parameters
Basic Information
Scope
This guidance technical document describes the research results of the determination method of electrical clearance and creepage distance not exceeding 2 mm in printed circuit boards and similar structural components. In these structures, the electrical clearance and creepage distance follow the same path along the solid insulating surface.
The information provided in this guidance technical document is only research results and is not applicable to the determination of electrical clearance and creepage distance in equipment within low-voltage systems (the corresponding requirements can be found in GB/T 16935.1). However, the relevant electrical clearance and creepage distance dimensions can be used as a reference during functional design.
This guidance technical document presents the research results under the following circumstances:
——Electrical clearance independent of the microenvironment;
——Creepage distance for pollution levels 1, 2, and 3, which is also applicable to small-pitch products with a similar printed circuit board design;
——Creepage distance to avoid flashover on the insulating surface;
——Information on the minimum creepage distance required to maintain minimum insulation resistance.
This guidance technical document specifies a test method for evaluating the water absorption groups of unclassified insulating materials surfaces.
