Scope

This standard specifies the guiding principles for the development of in vitro test methods for measuring the radial strength or collapse pressure of balloon-expandable vascular stents and the chronic deployment force of self-expandable vascular stents. This standard applies to balloon-expandable and self-expandable stents with tubular structures. This standard is applicable to bare stents and coated stents, but not to bifurcated stents or stents with non-circular cross-sections or conical stents.
