Scope

This document specifies some process parameters and parameter values used in four-color offset printing. The selection of these parameters and parameter values is based on the entire process, including the stages of color separation, plate making, proofing, and printing production.
This document:
—— Is directly applicable to offset printing publications, including magazines, catalogs, and commercial materials;
—— Is directly applicable to halftone or continuous tone proofs that demonstrate the color effects of offset printing;
—— Can be comparatively applicable to four-color (basic printing colors) offset packaging printing.
This document is not directly applicable to the necessary conversion of related digital input data to roller engraving data and/or the proofing process.
