Scope

Scope: This document specifies the requirements for the production of detoxified and robust sweet potato seedlings, including the environment and facilities of the seedling nursery, the cultivation of detoxified and robust seedlings, seedling collection and post-collection processing, and transportation, etc. This document is applicable to the production of detoxified and robust sweet potato seedlings. Main technical contents: 1) Developing morphological standards for high-quality and robust sweet potato seedlings: Evaluating the morphological indicators of main cultivar seedlings, including the number of leaves, stem diameter, appropriate seedling height, leaf number, internode length, etc., and proposing more standardized criteria. 2) Developing quality standards for high-quality and robust seedlings: Conducting seedling quality assessments across multiple regions, enterprises, and different propagation conditions, including seedling weights of spring and summer crops in seedbeds, nursery seedlings, and field seedlings, and proposing different quality standards. 3) Developing suitable seedbed environmental conditions: Including appropriate seedbed forms in different regions, soil organic matter content, and heavy metal safety assessments. 4) Developing cultivation techniques for high-quality and robust seedlings: Including seeding rates for different cultivars, various seedbed management techniques, nursery planting methods, planting density, water and fertilizer management, temperature control, and green pest and disease prevention methods. 5) Developing traceability, storage, and transportation techniques for high-quality and robust seedlings: Convenient and effective traceability marking, spaced supply of seedlings, short-term storage, and different methods and distances for temperature control and anti-corrosion techniques for different quantities of seedlings.
