WS/T 509-2016 Regulation for prevention and control of healthcare associated infection in intensive care unit

Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for the prevention and control of hospital infections in intensive care units (ICUs) of medical institutions, including the building layout and necessary facilities, management requirements, personnel management, monitoring of hospital infections, prevention and control measures for device-related infections, prevention and control measures for surgical site infections, hand hygiene requirements, methods and requirements for environmental cleaning and disinfection, cleaning and disinfection requirements for bed units, and cleaning and disinfection requirements for toilets, as well as air disinfection methods and requirements.
This standard applies to ICUs set up in comprehensive hospitals at all levels in accordance with relevant regulations.
The prevention and control of hospital infections in ICUs of infectious disease hospitals and pediatric and neonatal ICUs can be implemented in accordance with this standard, taking into account their professional characteristics.
