Basic Information
Scope
Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions for potato cultivation and harvesting operations using ridge tillage, ridge tillage methods, seeding operations, and mechanical harvesting. This document applies to potato cultivation and harvesting operations using ridge tillage in the southern mountainous regions of Ningxia. Main technical content: 3. Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document: 3.1 **Ridge Tillage** A tillage method using non-continuous spiral drills or vertical spiral blade assemblies to vertically cut and crush soil in one pass. 3.2 **Ridge Tillage Machine** A machine equipped with non-continuous spiral drills or vertical spiral blade assemblies capable of completing ridge tillage. 4. Ridge Tillage 4.1 Technical Requirements The ridge tillage depth should be ≥40cm, breaking the plow layer. After operation, the surface should be level, loose, without over- or under-tillage, with a stability of ≥85% in tillage depth and a rate of crushed soil particles (≤4cm lumps) of ≥85%. 4.2 Machine Selection Self-propelled, trailed, or towed ridge tillage machines with an Agricultural Machinery Promotion Certificate should be selected. 4.3 Operating Methods Based on plot conditions, circular, zigzag, or row-by-row methods can be used. 4.4 Pre-sowing Compaction After compacting the ridge, soil should be compacted with a roller before sowing to meet sowing requirements for soil quality. 5. Sowing 5.1 Sowing period: Start sowing from mid-April to early May. 5.2 Sowing method: Mechanical furrow sowing. 5.3 Technical Requirements The index of qualified spacing should be ≥85%; the index of missed sowing should be ≤10%; and the index of double sowing should be ≤20%. Fertilizer and seeds should be applied in layers, with the fertilizer placed below the seeds and a distance of ≥3cm between them. The planting depth should be consistent, with a pass rate of ≥80%. The planting depth is
