Scope

This document describes a method for conducting room-temperature tensile tests on REBCO tape and the corresponding test steps. The test method described in this document is suitable for measuring elastic modulus and 0.2% specified plastic elongation strength. Data on elastic limit, fracture strength, and post-fracture elongation are provided for reference only.
This document is applicable to testing rectangular cross-sectional samples with a cross-sectional area of 0.12 mm2 to 6.0 mm2 (corresponding to a width of 2.0 mm to 12.0 mm and a thickness of 0.06 mm to 0.5 mm of superconducting tape).
