Scope
This document specifies an open-loop test method for conducting side wind sensitivity tests on automobiles using wind tunnel equipment to generate side winds.
This document is applicable to M1 and N1 class vehicles, as well as passenger train vehicles. Other types of vehicles can refer to this document for implementation.
Note: The test conditions specified in this document do not represent real driving conditions. They can be used to quantitatively test the response of automobiles to side winds. The side wind conditions specified in this document do not directly simulate natural wind conditions. The specified wind speeds correspond to more severe conditions under natural conditions.
